Sustainability
At ICEFLAME, we strive to use sustainable materials and environmentally responsible practices whenever possible, while continuing to design high-performance ultralight outdoor equipment.
Responsible Packaging
All of our packaging components — including boxes, packaging bags, hang tags, and tag strings — are made from 100% recycled materials.
Some of the paper materials we use are FSC-certified and fully traceable, supporting responsible forest management.
Materials and Down Sourcing
Selected fabrics used in our products carry bluesign® certification, ensuring reduced environmental impact and responsible chemical management during production.
For down insulation, our NXT series sleeping bags use RDS-certified down (Responsible Down Standard), ensuring animal welfare and traceability throughout the supply chain.
Environmentally Certified Suppliers
Our fabric suppliers comply with ISO 14001:2015, an international environmental management standard focused on minimizing environmental impact during textile manufacturing.
Our Approach
We believe sustainability is a continuous process. By making careful material choices, working with responsible suppliers, and focusing on long-lasting performance, ICEFLAME aims to reduce its environmental footprint while creating gear built for real outdoor use.
Although our planet has a huge amount of resources, its total amount is constant, and for every resource we consume, a portion of it will inevitably be converted into non-reusable waste, which will be burned or buried in the ground. The former will increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and the latter will pollute the land, both of which will produce the greenhouse effect.
Our major in college is ecology and evolutionary biology, and in our studies and research we found that the rate of temperature change in the last 100 years is 100,000 times faster than before the advent of man. So after making our outdoor products, we were so concerned about the ecological impact of climate change that we decided not to use fluorinated water-repellent solvents, which are harmful to the atmosphere, to treat the down, and we used recycled purified water to clean the down. In addition to this we have decided to open up the recycling of down products to make new down sleeping bags.
This is the ablation of the glaciers we found in western China at an altitude of 3800 m above sea level over a 5-year period.
If you are a lover of the earth and want to support our project, all you need to do is send us your down sleeping bag that you plan to discard and we will recycle the down and fill it into a new sleeping bag shell to make a brand new product, so that you only pay for the cost of the sleeping bag shell and the labor cost.
