Down Quality
All batches of down from Ice Flame are sent to IDFL Lab in advance for testing.
Ice Flame purchases or manufactures 1-2 batches of down each year, and each batch is sent by us for testing at IDFL’s only lab in China. This eliminates the risk of counterfeiting by down suppliers.
We will display the IDFL test report on this page. Products purchased within the validity date must have internal down that meets the standards displayed in the test report.
The timing of updating the test reports depends on when we produce or purchase the down.

The Fill Power Index
Ice flame down is carefully selected in cold producing area, this allows the goose develops the best down with large cluster, maintaining profound warmth.
According the IDFL (International Down and Feather Testing Laboratory) testing standard, the quality of Ice Flame down reaches the 820FP(92% White goose down) and 700FP(85% White duct down) without any chemical processing. We oppose using any chemical supplement to enhance Fill Power (this is very common in low price products), not only because the effect of the chemical will lose after several use, but also not environment friendly.

SMELL CONTORL
The IceFlame NXT and EX series use down from adult birds over 100 days old, so the odor is minimal. In addition, the down comes from RDS-certified farms with clean environments and is processed using PFAS-free cleaning agents.
RDS
RDS certified down will incur more cost and we endeavour to use down that has been RDS certified. However, for some high end down such as 900FP, we can’t purchase a lot of down at one time, and the cost of certifying RDS will exceed the value of the down itself. Therefore, it is difficult to obtain RDS certification for 900FP down.
Currently, the 800FP/850FP Muscovy down we use is RDS-certified.

WATER RESISTANCE
The nonnitrogenous water-repellant processing is applied when water washing, this enhanced the performance of insulation power in humid environment, the down wouldn’t absorb too much water from sweat and air.
In the standard of IDFL testing, the Ice Flame down keeps dry in 180 minutes at water vortex.
