INTRO

For UL hiking, spring\summer\autumn, 3000m-level mountaineering. The design of quilt has a wide comfort temperature range.
Constructed with high quality goose down (800 FP or 900FP).
The outer shell is 7 denier ripstop fabric with durable water repellant, high density fabric with breathable coating cuts winds perfectly can also allow vapor transfer and breathability. The inner shell is breathable and skin friendly soft nylon.
The environmental friendly water repellant is used in water resistant after process which without PFOA and PFOs.
This is a down quilt, not same as mummy sleeping bag, no hood included, in cold weather we recommend using a down hood as additional part to keep your warm. It requires user has certain skills and experiences.
Compression bag is included, this adds 11.5g/0.4oz to your list, the bag allows you compress the down sleeping bag into a small volume.

STRUCTURE
BOX structure
This is the most efficient method for optimizing the insulating quality of down. A breathable mesh is layered between the inside and outside layers. This is used for thick bags.
Single structure
With single structure on both sides of the quilt, the box structure will not be as efficient as the single structure because the down loses height when it is flattened by the body.

I’ve posted a review of the Flame SD NXT 700. About the quilt…
I was already impressed by the quality of the SD sleeping bag, but the expert range (EX) is on another level.
The brown color is so beautiful, the loft (I took it in 900) is just impressive. I received a package worthy of a luxury product, and this product is clearly its jewel.
Seams, fabrics, swelling, color, versatility…. My friends who were with me couldn’t believe it when I told them the price… And yet they had American brand Zpacks, EE if I remember correctly.
I tested it for a few days but at temperatures above 5 Celsius. I’ll come back here to edit my post when the real tests start. (because I slept with it like a blanket, almost too hot but the zip system to separate it in two can help regulate the temperature in such cases )
I was a little afraid of a cold spot with the zipper, but the tube seems to be well packed and for the moment, it’s fulfilling its function (to be tested in lower temperatures).
The system is well thought out, and can be used as a poncho, cape + skirt. For those who really want to count the grams, I think you can do without a down jacket. (Be careful, as a down jacket can provide heat gain if the temperature drops sharply. So be sure of your travel temperatures).
The foot cord closes perfectly, leaving no gaping holes. Very reassuring. I’m 1m84/76kg. Quite athletic. I have plenty of room for down socks, pants and jackets, and even more length in size L to extend the temperature range.
IceFlame has won my heart (and that of my companions who were able to see the quilt), I just hope they’ll extend their catalog and don’t hesitate to place your next order.
